So someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think there's only two scenarios where State misses the ACC Tournament

1. State gets swept by Pitt and Louisville wins 2 out of 3 (or sweeps) vs FSU
2. State only wins 1 vs Pitt and Louisville sweeps FSU

Basically Louisville needs to win 2 more games than us to get in over us because we are 1 game ahead of them right now and have the tiebreaker over them

VT/GT lose and Louisville won.

With our win tonight, are we in unless we lose next 2 AND Louisville wins next 2? All other scenarios and we are in? Is that right?

Correct. Another State win or a Louisville loss clinches a spot.

This. And there's a good chance that FSU gets swept, so better to just control it by winning with a sweep being preferred.

The interesting thing to look at is seeding. I personally like the idea of being the 12. You have to beat Wake at some point anyway, might as well be in pool play. Also if the schedule is consistent to last year, that means we'd play Tuesday/Thursday in the evening slot. Good chance to get a strong crowd in Durham.

True but there's always a chance they get upset and you don't HAVE to play them. Especially if you can get on the other side of the bracket. Semifinal is just one game. Anything can happen in one game.

This is definitely true. Last year the semis were 8 v. 4 and 11 v. 10.

A part of me still holds hope that a sweep this weekend and going 2-0 in pool play with the right wins could sneak us in the big tournament. I know the committee didn't value our wins in the tournament as much last year, but a win against Wake and a team like BC definitely wouldn't hurt.

So I guess the discussion is easiest path to the championship vs. Any sort of resume booster.

Yeah I get that. But I think as much as we would like to hope the committee looks at conference tournament results, last year showed they don't value it very much like you said. I am not sure how they could see what State did in the ACCT last year and not think they were an NCAAT team.

And right now we are in a worse spot resume wise than last year so I would rather take the easier path to the ACC Championship and just try to win it and if that means you have to face Wake in the title game so be it.

The most frustrating part about our snub last year is they seemingly ignored the ACCT performance for us, but turned around and rewarded the holes for theirs.

Don't think we can be 12. Looks like we are locked in ahead of Pitt even with a loss today. So think it is 9-11 and we are 9 if we win today finishing ahead of VT and GT too.

Yep

Win: 9 seed
Lose: 10 or 11 seed depending on what GT and VT do
