#2 seed in Knoxville with #2 national seed Tennessee

my bad castle, I didn't realize that Wake has NOT updated their roster for the 2023 season for some stupid reason. You might be right to have some questions.castlewood107 said:
Not a great spot obviously. Give me Greenville or College Park. Hosting is probably a reach given our pitching questions, both roles and health of starters. As we saw last year, just get in at a reasonable spot (i.e, not one of the top 2-3 seeds). Anything can happen.
Don't get the Wake love. No 4 overall seed???
Isn't this the same team that went 2-and-'que in one of the easiest regionals last year, at Maryland....and needed a series W over us just to make the tourney?
Highfill and Whitaker are healthy but will be used sparingly early on. We have hitting. Always have. We will have power similar to the 2021 team. Power will come from several players, not just 1.castlewood107 said:

They're so dang young too. I'm not a fan of Wake, but I can't help but like Tommy Hawke.CLTWolf said:They quite literally return everyone from their team last year. The entire lineup plus all 3 weekend starters come back for them so I get them having some hype.castlewood107 said:

He's like 4'9 but plays like he's 6'4.metcalfmafia said:They're so dang young too. Nope…. That's no good. Don't want to be in Columbia with SC and Campbell.

as we learned last year
you can play your way out of a bad seed, you can't play your way out of no seed

Our SOS and OOC SOS are much, much better than last year, at least as of last night. Really though, I try to not even compare to last year, that was a hose job. Just win more than you lose down the closing stretch. There is always a ton of movement week to week in baseball, just control what you can.

The Citadel is 217th in RPI. It has to be a sweep this weekend.
some bubble teams have done that in previous seasonsmetcalfmafia said:
Cancel the series. Kidding (maybe)
Probably out. If we lose 2 out of 3 to UNC we might be done no matter what happens after that. We would need to sweep Pitt for sure to get back in the conversation.packman34 said:

Ughh Hate to hear that. Man we had a brutal schedule this year but that series where we got swept by Clemson, really will be the one series we look back on and say we blew it right there.matracey said:Probably out. Losing 2 out 3 to UNC and then sweeping Pitt would get us to 14-15 overall in the ACC and only 4-6 in ACC series. It would be an eerily similar resume to last year but our non conference and RPI are much stronger this year so that may get us in. I don't think the ACC tournament will matter unless we win it as shown last year with getting to the ACC finals and still being left out.packman34 said:Ughh Hate to hear that. New projections coming out shortly .... if you're a bubble team, you should feel good (for now). If you're a bottom tier host .... watch out.
