NC State baseball’s season is over. After the Wolfpack played yesterday’s 3-1 loss to Vanderbilt yesterday with just 13 players due to health and safety protocols and COVID issues within the program, the NCAA announced that Saturday’s winner-take-all game would be ruled no-contest due to COVID protocols, and Vanderbilt would advance to the College World Series.
The following is the full release and statement from the NCAA’s Division I Baseball Committee:
“The NCAA Division I Baseball Committee has declared the Vanderbilt-NC State Men’s College World Series game scheduled for Saturday, June 26 at 1 p.m. Central time a no-contest because of COVID-19 protocols. This decision was made based on the recommendation of the Championship Medical Team and the Douglas County Health Department. As a result, Vanderbilt will advance to the CWS Finals. The NCAA and the committee regret that NC State’s student-athletes and coaching staff will not be able to continue in the championship in which they earned the right to participate. Because of privacy issues, we cannot provide further details.”
NC State finishes the 2021 College World Series with a 2-1 record, one win away from the final series, after beating Stanford and Vanderbilt before falling to the Commodores with a depleted roster yesterday.

This is not self inflicting wounds, this is the NCAA changing their rules and going along with the BS narrative that everybody should be vaccinated. You have no idea if unvaccinated players infected vaccinated players. It could be the other way around. If the vaccinated can still infect other players then why get the vaccine.

Look the rules in all sports across the board are STUPID and make NO SENSE. I was coaching mens and womens soccer (women just started and men in playoffs) when MY WIFE tested POSITIVE. I had been around BOTH TEAMS for 5 days while my wife was sick with what her doctor said was ALLERGIES OR A SINUS infection. She TESTED POSITIVE on the 6th day........She had to QUARANTINE 10 days FROM HER FIRST SYMPTOMS. I had to QUARANTINE 14 days from her POSITIVE TEST.
I was told by THE POWERS THAT BE NOT TO GET TESTED because i was TOAST for 14 days no matter what.....BUT IF I TESTED POSITIVE then BOTH OF MY TEAMS were TOAST for 14 days as well. This was a week BEFORE my 2nd shot. I got my 2nd SHOT while I was still technically QUARANTINED because my doctor said since I had no symptoms I would be fine to get it.
I taught and COACHED from home and watched my team play games online for 2 weeks all while completely healthy. Never had a sniffle......
It is all so stupid and makes no sense especially when we are PROTECTING a population group that really does not need PROTECTION from this virus......

IF you do not get the vaccine then you run the risk of being subjected to the BS rules that have been set forth.
