State needed their starting pitchers to be good this weekend and I think they got more than could have expected. Hopefully, it will help their confidence for the rest of the season.

Huge series win for State and nice to get it versus the Heels. They really needed this series win and it is nice to see the bats wake up. Solid starting pitching.

Boom! Johnston,Highfill, and Willadsen get the big piece of chicken tonight. That's about the best weekend pitching performance I can ever remember. Had to have it and those guys stepped the hell up.

Justice was impressive coming out of the bullpen in relief. If they other starters can keep it up, it might be good to keep him coming out of the pen. Showed really good speed and ball placement, ticking 95 mph on a lot of those pitches.

Never seen any coach get knocked face down in the dirt more than Avent, just to get up, wipe himself off, and spit out dirt and keep trucking. Like him or not, you have to give him that.
