Anybody else watch the FSU game tonight? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy fSU pulled it out and it would be awesome to see Martin finally get that ring in his last year, but...........what the hell was Paul Manerri thinking there? First base is open with the winning run on second and FSU has Mendoza at the plate with 2 outs! And he pitches to him??? Mendoza with the game winner. Like I said, I'm happy as hell for Mike Martin, I just couldn't believe my eyes when they pitched to mendoza with 2 outs and 1st base open when his run means absolutely nothing.

For all the talk here about our title drought, in a way, what Martin has done is even more improbable. To have been the most successful coach in history, to have been there so many times and never won, it really defies the odds. Sure, he's won conference titles, but I bet he'd trade them all to win the whole thing. I hope he does it, it's a great story.

Agreed..took my dad to Omaha for Father's Day back In 2016 and we were hoping we'd get to see him finally win one then, but if he could somehow snatch that thing this year in his final year, I just don't think you could write a more perfect story.

Not watching the game, but I'm enjoying the meltdown on Twitter currently. It's funny that they want to fire Fox, though it's pretty absurd, but I do agree with one tweet I saw that he makes some questionable use of his pitchers.

The little I've watched of CBB, don't all coaches? Pitching changes on steroids it seems like.

**His most egregious coaching though was in the regionals a few years ago, when he had one draft-bound ace, who'd already pitched over 100+ pitches in G1, then brought him back in in like the 11th inning of the elimination game. Guy was an MLB prospect and he just ran him out there. Why MLB probably hates when the good pitching prospects go to college.

Yeah, the thing he's done that stood out to me was running guys out on little or no rest. I think one guy pitched in all three games against us this year. He didn't pitch a lot, but it was odd. I know our staff doesn't do that kind of thing, but I feel like it's something UNC does regularly.

Well, three of our rivals made the supers.
ECU got absolutely blasted twice.
Duke got eliminated while also being the first team ever to get no-hit in a super regional game.
And UNC got knocked out while being a heavy favorite, and gave up 13 runs in the first inning of an elimination game.
I'll take this weekend as a small consolation.

UNC has five runs on two homers. If they would bunt more, they might make a comeback.
