Piessel was a knee, right? He'll be well over a year removed from that so I'd think he'd be good to go.

To me, if you are moving Dudan to the starting role then you are focused on a few bigtime bullpen arms. I don't think you are going to be able to recruit over

Nance
Marohn

for the weekend.

While I don't disagree with what you're saying. I think I would be more critical if this was a bat.

From a pitching standpoint you probably have 80% of your innings already accounted for with what's on the roster. I would look to take a chance on a couple guys with some upside. Then add a crafty/funky arm from a lower level that has had success at a lower level that could be a situational guy.

As far as the line up goes. I would do the complete opposite. It would be the best proven bat I could possibly get regardless of position.

Then I would look for a slick fielding SS. Think Brandon Butterworth.

The bats you bring in HAVE to click this year. If you miss on an arm this year it isn't the end of the world.

Don't want it to be read as me being critical. It's a good take - local kid, pretty highly recruited.

My view is that we need proven bullpen arms, so I can't get overly excited about this until the full picture is available. Land two guys with proven track records plus CB? Sounds good to me.

And cannot agree more about recruiting production 1-9. Taking someone with potential that couldn't crack it at their last spot along with years of proven production is a good thing. That didn't really happen last year.

Think this is a great sign for all pictured. I dont believe guys like Fitz-Gerald and Maroudis ever moved in. Does seem like Gray is gone though all things considered.

Never forget Trot Nixon was moved in.
I mean it makes sense to move in, more leverage in signing. Most of these guys have a number already and know if certain teams will meet it or not though, but you still go along like normal incase something happens.
