Played behind a FR AA at SS last year on a natty team. Was trending to be a starter at first this year but stepped away for personal reasons and sat out the year.

Dare I say, on paper only, this would be a better pickup than Decriscio?

(Decriscio hitting 8 bombs the first 3/4 of the season was a super pleasant surprise).

JD wasn't conference dpoy at USD, though

On paper, yes- this kid is a smidge better than Decriscio IMO.

Decriscio was a great pick up, but Latta had a .988 OPS this past year while Decriscio was .791 in his final year at USD.

Lmao, never. I just know in the past some pretty good players went Juco bc of grades. Just speculation as to why a seemingly really good player went the Juco route

Weird thing is, that kid's dad played MLB baseball for like 6 years if you believe what's written in his bio.

He's from talent rich Texas, played in Oklahoma yet he's gonna finish up his college playing days in Illinois...so strange.

He's hit over 50 bombs in his college career and gonna slum it at Northern Illinois.

Doesn't make much sense unless there are character concerns or he just doesn't hit when important people are watching.

I've always wished/wanted a stat that tracked how well guys hit off of decent pitching vs not. Like how well does a top prospect actually hit vs other top talent vs a bad pull pen arm when the game is out of hand? But I digress…

In her post-presser scrum, #UVa AD Carla Williams said Virginia will fund 25 baseball scholarships moving forward.

Guessing Pack9 will be lucky if move to 15 fulls. The divide will grow bigger and is one reason why you prob see guys leaving.

Exactly. We have a great baseball tradition. I would expect we fund well over 15 ships. I would love to see us go to 34 and find somewhere other than basketball and football to 'sacrifice'.
