NOTES: NC State has landed a commitment from Orange (NC) linebacker Payton Wilson.  The talented in-state player committed to the Wolfpack this afternoon.

Wilson is regarded as a consensus four-star recruit and one of the top linebackers in the country. This season he totaled 103 tackles and 10 sacks in just eight games, prior to tearing his ACL in October. 

ESPN has Wilson rated the No. 2 outside linebacker in the country, and the No. 97 player overall.  Wilson is rated the No. 7 outside linebacker in the country by Rivals, and 247 has him listed as the No. 3 outside linebacker, and the No. 65 player overall in the 2018 recruiting class.

A dynamic athlete and fierce hitter, Orange lined Wilson up all over the field, playing him on offense, defense, and special teams.  

He is being recruited to play linebacker at NC State and will enroll in January, giving him a better chance to compete for playing time as a true freshman.
