NC State Cornerback Derrek Pitts Returning For 2022 Season

NC State graduate cornerback Derrek Pitts has announced he will be returning for the 2022 season.  He announced his decision on Instagram.

Pitts, who transferred to NC State from Marshall prior to the 2021 season, started 11 games for the Wolfpack.  He led the team with seven pass breakups and also ahd two interceptions, including the game-winner in the endzone against North Carolina.

According to PFF, Pitts had the highest tackling grade and rush defense grade for the cornerbacks and he didn’t allow a touchdown pass all season.
