Casey Morsell: “This Team Is Tough"

NC State junior guard Casey Morsell met with the media after the Wolfpack's 77-74 home win over Colgate.

“This team is tough.”

“We’re still trying to figure things out, especially with Manny going out. Guys have to step up and play.  We’re constantly trying to adjust.”

“At the end of the day we found a way. Credit to that Colgate team. They made a lot of shots. We knew they’d make a lot of shots but we have to figure things out on the defensive end.”

“A team like that tests our discipline... whether or not we’re ready to play essentially. That team is very fundamental, very smart, and if guys aren't locked in they are going to take advantage of it.”

“We grew from this.”

“No, it wasn’t nerves. I think coach Keatts is telling me to push or go, go, go, and it was just I'm going to go and it was a hassle on the offensive end.  Now I see what he's saying... I haven't necessarily played this type of transition since high school so that first half last game was basically me adjusting to the new system.”

“Versatility and toughness. [Seabron] can guard every position on the court, he's tough, and he's going to make defenders uncomfortable. On the offensive end he’ so good at getting in the paint and putting a lot of pressure on the defense.  He's versatile and he’s playing aggressive. That’s what we need from him.”
