NC State outfielder Jonny Butler intends to sign with Oakland after being selected by the Athletics in the MLB draft.

Butler confirmed the news to IPS writer Daniel Wilson.

An All-American and the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Butler finished the regular-season with an ACC-best .406 batting average and 11 consecutive multi-hit games to collect First Team All-CC honors.
