MLB DRAFT: NC State Signee Kahlil Watson Headed To Miami

Wake Forest (NC) star shortstop Kahlil Watson, a NC State signee, has been selected by Miami with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2021 MLB draft.

He is the third prep player committed to NC State to be selected in the top 18 of the MLB draft under Elliott Avent, joining Josh Hamilton and Justin Upton, two No. 1 overall picks.

Both developed into MLB All-Stars.

Watson is projected to sign and has already announced he will not be enrolling at NC State.
