MLB DRAFT: NC State Signee Kahlil Watson Headed To Miami

Wake Forest (NC) star shortstop Kahlil Watson, a NC State signee, has been selected by Miami with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2021 MLB draft.

He is the third prep player committed to NC State to be selected in the top 18 of the MLB draft under Elliott Avent, joining Josh Hamilton and Justin Upton, two No. 1 overall picks.

Both developed into MLB All-Stars.

Watson is projected to sign and has already announced he will not be enrolling at NC State.

Kahlil was at Heritage this weekend for a home run derby signing autographs for kids. He was decked out in all State gear so I was glad to see he was still representing for State even though he isn't attending. Very nice and humble kid

Again, still 99+% chance he signs, but I'm sure this doesn't help the Marlins
