PC VIDEO + QUOTES: Four-Star PF Ian Steere Picks NC State
Northwood Temple (NC) four-star power forward Ian Steere committed to NC State this morning at a press conference at his school. Here is video of the press conference and his comments from the announcement.
Thank you all for being here. This is a special day for me and my family and a special day for my school, Northwood Temple Academy.
First I want to thank God for giving me the talent and ability to play basketball at a high level.
I want to thank my parents for loving me and supporting me as I tried to achieve my goals and dreams. I appreciate all the long drives to practice, the money spent on camps, and you taking time off work for me. I love you guys.
I want to thank all the coaches who helped me succeed and took me out of my comfort zone. I especially wish to thank Jeff McInnis and Team Charlotte for welcoming me into their family. Team Charlotte made my last year of AAU a memorable one, and I'll carry those wonderful memories with me for the rest of my life.
Lastly, I want to thank the staff and fans of Creighton University for their kindness. I know I upset a lot of people with my decision to decommit, but I would like to thank them for everything they did for me, specifically, coach McDermott and coach Preston Murphy.
Now, with that being said, I'm proud to announce where I'll be attending college next year. This is a difficult decision, but I truly feel that God set a path for me to attend this fine university.
That path is leading me to North Carolina State University.
