NC State landed a much-needed commitment on Friday when Southwest Mississippi CC wing Atticus Taylor‍ committed while on campus for his official visit.

Taylor played in 17 games this season, averaging 9.0 points and 7.4 rebounds in just 23 minutes a night.  He shot 48% from the field, 37% from 3-point range, and 75% from the free throw line.

“My biggest strengths are my ability to be able to handle the ball at my size, my IQ, and passing,” he said.  “I'm a great rebounder, too. That's one of the main things I do well."

NC State is recruiting Taylor to play on the wing where he can be a factor on the glass as well as with his perimeter shooting.

He will enroll in a couple of weeks and have three years of eligibility at NC State.

Here are highlights of Taylor in action during his lone season at Southwest Mississippi Community College.
