Junior Point Guard Markell Johnson
You could never get it to one possession. What led to that?
Them getting offensive rebounds and us not finishing plays... them getting offensive rebounds.
How well did you all play tonight?
We played well today. We didn't play well enough to pull out the win, but we played well.
Where do you stack up... you have to play teams like this in neutral sites.
It’s good for us. We came in and competed at a real high level.
What was the message after the game from coach?
He just said moving forward we can’t get beat on the glass like that.
Senior Guard Torin Dorn
Opening Statement...
It’s a game of runs and they were answer the runs we had.
What’s biggest issue defending Zion Williamson?
Defensively we have to pay better attention to detail, maybe be a little tougher, things like that.
Was he everything you thought he’d be?
Given him credit, he’s a good player.
Anytime you play players like that you want to have fun and compete.
He’s a good player and has my respect. You have to earn it during the game.
What was the difference... why couldn’t you get it under seven?
We couldn’t get the stops we needed... we’d cut it to six, seven, or eight and they’d get timely stops.
There are some little things we have to clean up moving forward.
Learn anything new about yourselves in a game like this?
There are some things we have to clean up but we figured out some guys are gamers in big moments.
You always learn lessons in losses.
How do you stack up against a team like this?
Absolutely. We played hard and we can play with anybody in the country.
What was the gameplan to combat their height?
We wanted to play with speed and quickness.
