LOCKER ROOM REPORT: Lockett, Harris, Funderburk Talk USC Upstate Win
Several NC State players met with the media after the Wolfpack's 98-71 win over USC Upstate.
Senior Wing Eric Lockett
“We came in with a lot of energy. We came out a little flat so we had to pick it up on defense.”
“I’m trying to do whatever I can do to get the win for the team.”
“I just have to stay ready for when my name is called and do what I can do when I get on the court.”
“I always want to play so I’d say yes I have more fire in me today.”
“I’m definitely ready to play that last game and get into conference play.”
“We brought in a lot of energy and saw we were able to score with our defense.”
Sophomore Guard Blake Harris
“We were kind of slow at the beginning but we picked it up at the end.”
“We had some intensity defensively.”
“We’ll keep working and listen to coach Keatts... follow his scheme.”
“We shoot a lot of three’s in practice so we hope we can make those in games.”
“If we’re making three’s, it helps.”
“We picked up our intensity for sure at the end of the game and did what we needed to do to win the game.”
“We did what we had to do on the defensive end.”
“I want to win the next game, that’s it.”
Sophomore Forward D.J. Funderburk
“Our coach told us to keep pushing ahead and keep battling, don’t let the energy get to us.”
“The goal is to win the game.”
“We have 10 eligible guys to play and he can play any of those ten guys and anyone can have double-digits.”
“That’s definitely something to look forward to.”
“We try to make the best of our opportunity when we get in there.”
“Defense wins games and it shows on the court.”
“Our coach, we were really focusing on the next team ahead.”
“I think we’re on schedule right now. There are a few things to tighten up when we get back from break, but for the most part I’m pretty happy.”
