Why NC State? “I went there with my dad in mid-April, and we both liked the school a lot. I knew I just wanted to get my mom up there so she could see it and I could find out what she thought about it. When we got up there, it just felt right. We decided for sure it was the right fit for me.”

IPS Take On Ikem Ekwonu: Ekwonu committed while on his visit and hasn’t entertained any other schools since. He originally committed as a guard but has the potential to slide outside to tackle if that’s where he’s needed – or if that’s where the staff prefers him.
Athleticism is one of Ekwonu’s biggest strengths, as he played both ways in high school and was recruited by some schools to play on the defensive line. Just for good measure, his twin brother is a linebacker headed to Notre Dame. Ekwonu may have the highest ceiling of any offensive lineman in the 2019 class.
