Finley: "It's A Little Emotional"

NC State senior quarterback Ryan Finley met with the media after the Wolfpack's 58-3 home win over East Carolina.

On the win...
That was special for a lot of different reasons. It was special for the seniors to go out like that. I was really happy about a lot of different things and about the records that were broken. That’s awesome. All I can really say is that it was special.

On being a leader...
It’s a little emotional. It’s awesome. I can’t think of a better way to go out.

On the records...
I think Reggie Gallaspy really deserved that. Reggie’s gone through some things in his career and for him to finish it off like that is impressive. We’re all really proud of him and I have a lot of respect for Reggie. It couldn’t have happened to a better guy. For us to have two 1,000-yard receivers, which has never been done here, it’s a tribute to our whole entire offensive staff. Our whole entire offense makes that happen. I’m really happy.

On his last game in Carter-Finley Stadium...
It couldn’t have ended any better.

On the impact he’s made at NC State...
I think it means a lot to all of us and all of us seniors. I’ve only been here three years, but there’s some seniors that have been here for four or five years. The transformation that the program’s been through in the three years I’ve been here, and the four or five years they’ve been here, is what’s college football is about. It’s about coming to a program and leaving it better than you came to it. It’s pretty awesome.
