NC State thumped Maryland Eastern Shore 95-49 Saturday afternoon in PNC Arena to improve to 2-0 on the season.

While four Wolfpack players ultimately finished in double-figures scoring, it was only in the game’s final minutes did two of the players, Jericole Hellems (13) and Braxton Beverly (12), join two others, Torin Dorn Jr. (22( and D.J. Funderburk (13), with at least 10 points.

Ten players saw action for NC State and all scored.

Braxton Beverly Returns

The sophomore guard was one of four NC State players to score in double-figures Saturday. Beverly, who suffered a ???? injury over the ??? finished with 12 points off the bench. He made four of his 10 three-point attempts and also had an assist.

Time Limit

Basketball games have a time limit. In NCAA sanctioned events, the time limit is 40 minutes.

If basketball games were like baseball, without a time limit and only depending on the defense to get outs or stops, poor Maryland Eastern Shore would have missed their flight home, the hockey game scheduled for Saturday night inside PNC Arena would have been delayed, and all the patrons would have remained inside on what was a gorgeous day in the Triangle.

LOWLIGHTS

Ian Steere was not available to play Saturday. NC State head coach Kevin Keatts explained after the game that he was mulling his future with the program.
