Meyers: "We Stuck Together"
NC State redshirt junior wide receiver Jakobi Meyers met with the media after the 24-13 win over James Madison.
“I feel all right. I’ll be able to play next week. I just have to focus on getting back for practice, and I’ll be all right.”
“The team’s basically like my family. I knew we had to do everything to hold our family up and keep our family together. We didn’t want to lose the first one, so we made sure we stuck together, and we finished through the whole game.”
“Coach Drink had a good game call. We practiced it the whole week. We knew exactly what they’d do. We knew that if they pressed, I’d sell it, and I’d take off. It was just perfectly drawn up, and we just executed it.”
“I just think I understand. I know there are guys that’s two times bigger than you bearing down on you. I know I’ve got to get my eyes around and make a tough catch. If he can stand in there and take that hit, I can stand in there and make that catch.”
“I missed it. I missed it so much. The summer conditioning: ‘Body by Thunder.’ They really mean it. Thunder pours a lot into you. Just being back here to play football with my family and see my family in the stands, it means a lot to me."
