COMMIT ALERT: Miller Makes It Official

NC State landed a huge commitment tonight from Charlotte (NC) Country Day star offensive tackle Triston Miller‍, who announced his commitment to the Wolfpack on his Twitter account.

Miller picked the Wolfpack over offers from Tennessee, North Carolina, Arkansas, West Virginia, Duke, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Boston College, Kentucky, and Maryland among others.  He had previously cut his list to NC State, North Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Maryland.

Miller took an official visit to NC State last weekend, and that trip made a huge impression.

Triston Miller has developed a strong relationship with NC State offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford.

"It really went well," Miller said of his official visit.  "I learned a lot about the school and how I could fit in.  I was able to see a lot of the campus, the academics, and also learn more about the football program.

"I would say the highlight would be probably talking with coach Ledford in his office.  I was able to pick his brain a lot about playing tackle, and I think I learned a lot from him.  Our relationship is becoming strong, and he's a great guy who could push me to be the best I can be.  We watched film, and they showed me how they developed offensive linemen and how a lot of pro teams look at their film and players because of the way they block."

At 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds, Miller starred at right tackle for Country Day as a junior, but the Wolfpack will be looking to replace All-ACC senior left tackle Tyler Jones following the 2018 season.

"They've told me they want me at left tackle," Miller stated.  "I talked to the coaches about playing early, and they said if I came in and showed I'm ready I could compete for that spot.  If not by the first game I could maybe be competing for that spot by the first ACC game."

Miller is the latest big-time in-state prospect to select the Wolfpack.  He is NC State's 16th 2019 commitment and the 12th in-state addition.

"You have to take notice of what they are doing on the recruiting trail," he said of the Wolfpack.  "It's really impressive that a lot of the top players in the state are now going to NC State."

Coaching staff putting in serious work.
Just a guy on the sunshine squad.
The Gatekeeper.
Homer Dumbarse.
StateFan2001 will probably respond to this because he isn't smart enough to understand how ignore works.
