NC State Selected To Host A NCAA Baseball Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time in the last three years, NC State baseball has been named one of 16 host sites for an NCAA Regional at Doak Field at Dail Park.

INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time in the last three years, NC State baseball has been named one of 16 host sites for an NCAA Regional at Doak Field at Dail Park. The Wolfpack is hosting for the sixth time in program history and each has come under the leadership of current head coach Elliott Avent.
 
The Pack also hosted in 2003, 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2016. NCSU advanced to the super regional in each of the first four years hosting.
 
NC State will be making its 30thpostseason appearance
 
The field of 64 teams and regional pairings for the 2018 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, including the three teams that will join the Wolfpack in the Raleigh Regional, will be announced live on ESPNU on Monday afternoon at noon ET. 
 
Game times will be announced on Monday afternoon after the bracket has been released by the NCAA.
 
Tickets go on sale to general public on Tuesday, May 29, at 5 p.m. online (subject to availability).

Avent coached teams have won the regional 4 times and won the super regional once. He has one team that won games at the CWS.

Really happy with Avent and his program. We need to funnel more money toward his program. Our facilities are awful compared to the success we've had on the field.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I hope James does his annual, except for last year, sit down with AD Yow. I admire her for answering the question on Athletic Department debt and WPC debt.

How much is the outstanding debt for the Athletic Department and Wolfpack Club? Did we have to borrow for the renovations to Reynolds Coliseum?

Right now, we're $41 million in debt, but of the $41 million $39 of it is secured. We've pledged ticket sales to it, and a portion of our student fees, okay? That is true that if we hadn't pledged it, and we hadn't done what we've done, we would have the ticket revenue and the student fee available to us, but this money is pledged to pay off... we're still paying off Doak, by the way, it's not paid. Talking about adding to it, but we've not paid the original yet

from 2015 interview
With the Indoor Practice Facility in use and the Reynolds Renovation/Hall of Fame under construction, where does both the NC State Athletics facility debt and the Wolfpack club debt currently stand?
On June 30th our athletic department facility debt will be $41.9 million. That's down from $45 million a year ago.

We just keep paying $5.6 million on it every year off the top of our revenues. I look forward to when it's over because we need the money for operations.

Well, the draw is what it is. If the bats get going, we've got a chance to advance. If not, it's going to be a short post season. Hopefully we can relax and have fun, we've played tight at the end of the year.

Last years top overall seed didn't even make it out of the regionals so anything can happen. UF hasn't been playing well lately either and the injury bug has hit them too. Their catcher who is one of their top hitters has been out and not sure when he'll be back. Brady Singer has missed time too. We just have to control what we can control.
