MLB DRAFT: Van Dam Selected By Kansas City
NC State right-handed pitcher Shane Van Dam has been drafted by the Kansas City in ninth round, 278 overall, in the 2025 MLB Draft.
After a brief stint at SUNY Cortland, the Cranford, N.J. native sported a 4-0 record in 16 appearances in 2024 in which he amassed a 4.58 ERA, one save, 38 strikeouts, and 20 walks in 37-1/3 innings of work. However, his season would end on May 3, 2024 in the Wolfpack’s 8-7 win over No. 7 Florida State.
He returned to the mound on May 6, 2025 as the starting pitcher against UNCW and finished this season with eight innings pitched, four strikeouts, and four walks in just three games played.
