Wide receivers coach George McDonald is at it again, and this time he landed Chris Toudle out of Wilmington (NC) Hoggard High School.
At 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, Toudle is a matchup nightmare for cornerbacks and safeties. Capable of lining up at flanker or in the slot, Toudle flashes good quickness out of his routes and strong hands. He can be a major weapon in the redzone and has enough speed to serve as a vertical threat.
Toudle is also extremely physical, showing a willingness to block from the slot or in the run game, and factor in his size he could potentially grow into a tight end down the road.
However, NC State is recruiting Toudle to play wide receiver, and as a junior he totaled 32 catches for 556 yards (17.4 yards per catch) and 11 touchdowns.
