Pack 9 adds South Carolina Transfer

NC State is picking up a young arm from the SEC. 

Ryder Garino, a right-handed pitcher from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, who spent his freshman season at South Carolina in 2025, has announced his intention to transfer to NC State. 

Garino went 2-0 in 24.2 innings of work for the Gamecocks this past season. The righty sported a 5.84 ERA in 16 appearances (one start). Half of his outings came against P4 competition. 

Garino is the Wolfpack’s first transfer portal addition this cycle.

Welcome! I grew up in Sumter with family in Columbia - on that basis, I am hoping that you will like Raleigh better than Columbia..... Columbia is not terrible, but Raleigh is exploding!

I went to high school in Sumter. Raleigh is a significant upgrade over that entire area.

Looks like a quality pickup. I am interested in seeing the philosophy taken this year vs last. Last was heavily focused in potential over production. Will we go thr same route or look for more proven production this time around. I personally prefer the latter.

Absolutely. I think Garrett Pennington is the perfect model. Get guys from smaller schools that have a proven track record to hit.
