WNBA DRAFT: Aziaha James Selected No. 12 Overall By Dallas
NC State guard Aziaha James was selected by the Dallas Wings with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
James has led the Wolfpack in scoring in each of the past two seasons. NC State reached the Final Four for the first time in 26 years during James’ junior campaign in 2023-24. NCSU followed that up with an ACC regular-season title this past season. It was the second time the Pack claimed the regular-season crown in James’ college career.
On Feb. 3, 2024, James finished with 36 points to lead NC State past Duke in Reynolds Coliseum. It was the most points scored in a game by a Wolfpack women’s basketball player in the 21st century. Only five women in NCSU history have ever scored more points in a contest. At the end of the season, James was tabbed Honorable Mention All-American by several outlets.
Despite receiving only limited playing time during her first two seasons with the Wolfpack, the 5-10 guard from Virginia Beach, Va, finished 12th all-time in scoring (1,589 points) and 7th all-time in three-pointers made (184).
In the coming days and weeks, Inside Pack Sports will have more on Aziaha James as she begins her professional career!
