Heath Andrews: "I Feel Like That Just Gave Me Confidence"

NC State pitcher Heath Andrews recently met with the media to discuss the upcoming season and much more!

Had a couple of great showings in the fall scrimmages against Duke and Elon. Have you seen your game elevate since then up until now leading into the new season?

I feel like that just gave me confidence leading into the season. It was definitely where I would just go out and do the best I can.
 

What do you think of this team? Is this your first year? 

This is my second year. 
 

Second year, okay. What do you think of this team? I know everybody talks about it being a young team. What are your thoughts on this team? 

Definitely a young team, but I can't tell yet. Last year's team, around this time, I didn't know how good we'd be last year, but this year is definitely a young team. 
 

The run you guys made last year to get to Omaha, how would that maybe help you guys set the season? 

Just going forward. We think about it sometimes, not much, just. 
 

Give you a little bit of confidence though? 

Yeah, yeah, definitely confidence knowing that we can do it. That we've done last year, we can do it this year. 
 

A lot of the praise for NC State's program this season relies on its pitching staff. What is it about Coach Chrysler and his style that's been able to allow this unit to develop as well as it has? 

He knows how to recruit, and he knows how to get them better. He's gotten all of us better as soon as we stepped on campus. 
 

This area, baseball area, I mean, you got Duke down the road, Carolina, Campbell, you see some really great programs. How competitive is it? I mean, like they talk about the midweek games are just competitive too. I mean, what are those battles like? 

It's definitely a rivalry. Every game in North Carolina is a rivalry. A lot of them are.
