RALEIGH, N.C. – Since 2014, NC State head coach Dave Doeren has honored a member of the Wolfpack football team by giving them the No. 1 jersey.  For 2018, graduate wide receiver Stephen Louis will don that special number, Doeren announced today.

Louis, who graduated in May enters his final season with 1,333 career receiving yards – one of the top marks in school history - while his 16.87 career yards per catch mark is ninth on the all-time list.  After sitting out the 2015 season following surgery on both shoulders, Louis was named the winner of the 2016 Ken McNeill Iron Wolf Award, given annually to the player who makes the strongest comeback from injury.

"Day in, day out, Steph epitomizes what 1Pack1Goal is all about," said Doeren. "He is an excellent leader and teammate who gives his best every time he steps on the field, in the weight room or in the meeting room."

Two-time All-ACC all-purpose back Jaylen Samuelswore No. 1 in 2016 and 2017, while senior Hakim Jones was honored in 2015.  Safety Jarvis Byrd, who had come back from three torn ACLs to play his senior campaign, wore No. 1 for the 2014 season
