COMMIT ALERT: JUCO Standout Pitcher Landon Carr Picks NC State

NC State has landed a commitment from Gaston College (NC) star pitcher Landon Carr.

Carr, a sophomore from Waxhaw (NC), has primarily worked out of the bullpen his two years at Gaston College, spending most of this season as the team’s closer.  However, he did make six starts this year and was outstanding.

He finished the season with a 7-1 record with six starts while recording four saves and tossing two complete games.  He had a 1.88 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 56 strikeouts in 48 innings.

He was named Region 10 Relief Pitcher of the Year and first-team All-Region.

He had originally committed to Campbell but opened up his recruitment after a head coaching change.

Carr will have two years of eligibility remaining.
