NC State guard Casey Morsell recently met with the media to discuss the start of the season, expectations for the year, and much more.

“Obviously I did have options to move on but just coming in here having another opportunity to learn and be successful on the court is definitely something I value. I look forward to continue growing with these guys.”

“You can’t get too high or too low... you have to stay even-keeled and trust the process. Every team’s journey is different.”

“We have a great group. I think with any team in the country of course the biggest challenge is chemistry. We have seven or eight transfers so still trying to get them to understand the culture and how we do things.  It will also play a significant factor of being a good leader for the new guys because we’ll need them throughout the year.”

“I think the end goal is to be at your best in March.  No one wins a championship in November. As long as you keep moving in the right direction, the sky is the limit.”

“I think that’s what it is. You’re trying to value your best in the moment and try to stack days.”

“Every summer has been a better summer for me... I’m trying to add a little more each summer. Being able to get feedback by testing the waters is playing a significant part.”

“I’ve definitely worked on ballhandling and making more plays on the ball. This team has a different dynamic than last year’s team. Definitely we need everyone aggressive on the ball and that was one thing I improved on from last year.”

“I’ll be real. It doesn’t feel that much different from me. I guess it’s a relief but it’s really us re-starting.”

“This group has been great in terms of coming in, communicating, and helping the team morale.  It’s been a smooth adjustment so far.”

“I think it definitely gives me great advantages in life.  I love this area, I love this city. I definitely want to reside here after basketball.”

“The NIL market has definitely propelled me to having a smoother transition and helped me figure out what I want to do after basketball.”

“I love the city, and having the opportunity to be here another year has been a great benefit for me.”
