NC State head coach Kevin Keatts announced today that the Wolfpack has added scoring guard Kam Woods‍ to the roster.

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State men’s basketball head coach Kevin Keatts announced Friday that the Pack has added Kam Woods to the program. Woods has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

“I’m excited to be able to add a player of Kam’s ability to our roster,” Keatts said. “I love what I’ve seen from him on film, he is a dynamic player that plays with a high motor. I think he is one of the more talented scorers in college basketball and can really light up the scoreboard when he gets going, but he also has shown he has the ability to get his teammates involved and create opportunities for them.

I think Kam will be an excellent addition to our locker room.”

Woods played last season at North Carolina A&T where he earned second team All-Colonial Athletic Association honors. The guard averaged 17.3 points per game and led the team with 83 made three-pointers. He paced the team in assists and was second in steals.

In the CAA, Woods ranks fourth in scoring, fifth in three-pointers made per game, fifth in minutes played and sixth in three-point field goal percentage.

Originally from Bessemer, Ala., Woods started his collegiate career at Troy in the 2020-21 season. He averaged 10.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in 23 contests for the Trojans as a freshman. He scored a season-high 28 points at Coastal Carolina on Jan. 23, 2021.

After one season at Troy, Woods transferred to Northwest Florida State Junior College for the 2021-22 season. He averaged 11 points per game and shot 38.5 percent from three-point range to help lead the Raiders to a 35-2 record and the NJCAA Men's Basketball National Championship.
