COMMIT ALERT: Angeline Is In The Fold

NC State landed a huge commitment today from Southern Cal transfer tight end Cary Angeline‍.

Angeline also considered Pittsburgh, Virginia, and Syracuse among others.  He was on NC State's campus for his official visit the weekend of the Clemson game.

"It was a very good visit," Angeline told Inside Pack Sports after the visit.  "That was my first time down to NC State, and it was get to meet the coaches. I got to sit in meetings and get a feel for how they coach things there.  It was a great visit.

"The atmosphere was really cool.  The stadium was packed for it.  I thought it was a great game to see."

A four-star recruit out of high school, Angeline enrolled at Southern Cal in 2016 and redshirted that season.  In early September of this year he left the program and is now spending a year at Delaware Valley Community College.

At 6-foot-7 and 245 pounds he is a quick-twitch athlete who has outstanding hands... just plucks the ball out of the air and with his size, defenders really have problems dealing with Angeline.

He is NC State's first tight end commitment in the 2018 recruiting class, and he is the 23rd commitment overall.

Inside Pack Sports will have more on Angeline in the near future so stay tuned!

Does he need to sit out a year as a transfer?

Big time pick up. He was the #10 TE in the country in the 2015 class. Initially chose USC over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Florida St., Michigan, etc. Just watched his film on Hudl, and it is extremely impressive. A pass-catching TE with great hands, and so tall that he can go up and get the ball easily over defenders, and good speed for his size as well.

Interesting that this news breaks during the Fiesta Bowl.
