RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State men’s basketball head coach Kevin Keatts announced Monday that the Pack has added Mohamed Diarra‍ to the program. Diarra comes to NC State from Missouri and has two years of eligibility remaining.

“I’m excited to add Mohamed to our program,” Keatts said. “He’s a very talented player with a great upside. He averaged a double-double two years ago in junior college and even though he didn’t replicate those numbers last season at Missouri, he was a valuable player on a team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

I think Mohamed will take the next step in his development in our program and is an excellent addition to our locker room.”

Originally from Mountreuil, France, Diarra was the number one junior college recruit in the Class of 2022 by JucoRecruiting.com. He averaged 17.8 points and 12.6 rebounds per game and led all National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) players in rebounds and ranked in the top-20 in blocks. Diarra was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Player of the Year He recorded 71 blocks in 30 games to earn KJCCC Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Last season at Missouri, Diarra appeared in 25 games, making six starts for a Missouri team that finished 25-10 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He averaged 3.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game and finished tied for second on the team with 15 blocks.
