COMMIT ALERT: S Bishop Fitzgerald Commits!

NC State added another piece to the class of 2023 puzzle today when Coffeyville (KS) JUCO S Bishop Fitzgerald‍ announced his commitment to the Wolfpack.

He announced on his IG platform.

In 2022 Fitzgerald recorded 50 tackles, eight pass breakups, six interceptions (one returned for a score), and two fumble recoveries – with both of them returned touchdowns. When all was said and done Fitzgerald was named conference defensive player of the year and a NJCAA all-american as a first team defensive back.

In addition to NC State, Fitzgerald also held offers from Maryland, Liberty, Utah State, Indiana, Georgia Southern, Toledo, Troy, SMU, Louisville, Washington State, Kansas, Minnesota, Arizona State, and Cincinnati, among others.

Fitzgerald earlier told Inside Pack Sports he was impressed with what the Wolfpack had accomplished on defense.

“For the past few years I’ve been watching their defense and they’re like top 25 in a lot of major categories. I feel like as a safety that’s something that really catches your eye. I’m trying to be a part of something big.”
