NC State senior forward Abdul-Malik Abu met with the media after the loss to UNC Greensboro.

On start of second half...
We feel like we could have done a better job of communicating.

On what Torin Dorn’s rebounding performance did for the team’s energy...
"We’d rather have it now than later. We have a lot of work to do, but that’s the story. We always want to get better. ACC is right around the corner, so it’s better that we get through this now, build, learn, regroup, and get ready."

On Markell Johnson’s absence and its effect...
"It (was) definitely a big difference. He’s an amazing part of this team. We feel like everybody is an intricate part of this team, so losing him definitely gives us a different look. Markell’s absence, his speed, his athleticism, the way he pressures the ball, that always changes the game when you have a dynamic point guard who can get the ball up the court."

On defensive takeaways from the game...
"Never let up. Keep fighting. We were down double digits in the second half, but we kept crawling, inch by inch. We had possession of the ball down three with like four or five seconds left. It’s a game of possessions. It can go either way. We just felt that we could’ve put ourselves in a better position."
