OUR FINAL TAKE: NC State vs. Louisville

Several members of the Inside Pack Sports staff predict the winner of the NC State-Louisville matchup.

Given all the injuries on offense I just don’t feel confident about that group against a strong Louisville defense.  Pack’s defense should be able to keep it close, but I’m not sure that will be enough for the Pack on the road.

Scoring points has been way too tough for NC State and it's hard to objectively expect that to change against Louisville. This is a game the Pack could certainly win but it won't be easy on the road and that's compounded by the loss of several key players.

If you listen to IPS podcasts you’ll often hear discussion around “the spot”.   That confluence of events that prop up or drag down a team.  And this week I’m not seeing this as a good spot for State.  Between a road game, coming off an emotional loss with a plethora of significant injuries, the one bright light might be that Louisville is forced to go to their backup quarterback.  

Still, the Pack will need to overcome the weight of last week’s loss and fight through a physically demanding game.  This will be quite a test.

What a difference a week can make. Following a resounding win against Wake Forest, the Wolfpack suffer a punch to the jewels from Boston College.

Rumors floating this week that MJ Morris is injured does not help the outlook for the offense. The one thing in State’s favor might be that Malik Cunningham is battling injuries as well and might be limited or even better out.

This should be a defensive matchup. If so give me The Gibby Defense & #AK32 aka The Greatest Kicker in NC State history, Mr. Christopher Dunn.
