Freshman point guard Lavar Batts Jr. will transfer from NC State per his father and high school coach, Lavar Batts Sr.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder averaged 3.7 points and 1.5 assists this season for the Wolfpack. He averaged 13.2 minutes per game. He shot 32.1% from the field, 18.8% from 3-point range, and 58.9% from the free throw line.
Batts Jr. originally signed with VCU but committed to NC State in the spring after a coaching change at VCU. NC State added Braxton Beverly to the roster after Batts Jr. gave his commitment and in December freshman point guard Blake Harris transferred into the program.
Batts Jr. was a four-star signee out of Concord (NC) Robinson High School.
