NC State Wrestling has added four of the top-25 recruits nationally as part of its 2022 Signing Class. The Wolfpack inked six overall, with five being top-100 recruits.
Four of the signees are ranked in the top-25 nationally (regardless of class) by both FloWrestling and MatScout. The Pack has signed the #5, #14, #20 and #22 recruits according to FloWrestling and the #9, #11, #21 and #23 prospects according to MatScouts.
Four of the six are also currently ranked in the top-3 of their weight classes entering their senior seasons of high school, with an additional signee ranked in the top-11.
"I really am excited about the future for what we have as far as talent, character, culture (with this class)," said NC State head coach
Pat Popolizio. "Everything that we have been working towards to build our program, I think is going to take that next step with this group of kids that will be coming here. I'm excited to be able to officially announce this class.
"It has been a team effort from our staff and the guys we currently have here, and additionally to the surrounding support staff and even our fans and their excitement. It's an exciting time to be a part of NC State Wrestling."
The Pack's current 10-person freshman class, that saw their first collegiate action last weekend, were ranked #4 nationally by both InterMat and FloWrestling and #5 by MatScouts among last year's signing classes.
That class was the fourth in the previous six years to be ranked as a top-10 recruiting class nationally, including the second straight top-10 class.
