2026 season gets going for real tonight with the Australian Open starting at 10 PM. Carlos Alcaraz is #1 seed with Jannik Sinner seeded #2 on the men's side. Aryna Sabalenka is #1 seed with Iga Swiatek seeded #2

Up until a few days ago (and for the last several months I believe), Shnaider had fallen out of the top 20 in singles. She is the 23 seed in the Australian Open. But I checked the WTA live rankings this morning, and she has now moved up to #19 in the world.

I saw that #17 Emma Navarro lost in the first round of the Australian Open. So Shnaider could pass her with in the rankings with another few wins at the Australian Open, or likely some time later this year.

Would expect Shnaider to move back inside the top 15 relatively soon.
