Hello all,
I am starting this thread for the various soccer leagues throughout Europe (posts about leagues on other continents are welcome here, too).
From time to time, I might write up some random thoughts or game reports. Perhaps I will even drop an article-style post in here. For years, I have wanted to write more about soccer, and this seems like a great place to get some practice.
As a soccer fan growing up in the 1980s, like most folks now, I had favorite teams in each country. It was much more difficult to keep up with back then. It typically required a trip to the newsstand to read European newspapers and magazines.
My preferences as a young boy were Real Madrid, Manchester United, Celtic, Juventus, and Hamburg. These days, the Italian and German leagues are more for watching without a favorite (I probably like Roma best in Italy now). I still enjoy Real Madrid and Celtic quite a bit. Poor Man U is not nearly what it once was.
Anyway, whether this thread gets a lot of burn or not, I hope to post in here and improve my soccer writing, while also providing a place for soccer fans to interact.
Cheers, Rob
