Pop said on the podcast today that Arrington had surgery recently (last several days) and will miss the rest of this season, and take a medical redshirt, and still have two seasons left.
The freshman Zepeda looked good at the Scuffle and appears like a solid replacement for Arrington at 157.

Zepeda looked good but appeared to get hurt in his last match so not sure where he's at physically.

We've got a 133 problem. Very uninspiring performance from Hohman who has replaced the Oklahoma State transfer, Redding, at 133. Hohman was ridden for almost 90 seconds to start the third, giving up the riding time point before getting out.
Pack down 7-0 through two bouts.

What a fun match. Denkins from UVa had great energy, attempted multiple super ducks and even hit a fireman's carry, but Koy too strong for him. If he had a little more time, Koy had the cradle locked up and would've likely gotten bonus points.

And Pop loves to give starters nights off in conference matches - for reasons I've never understood. Sat Vince tonight so that's at least a 7 point swing.
Arrington is done for the year. If Zepeda's injury is long-term (and it sure looked like it was an ACL in the finals of the Southern Scuffle), we're in real trouble at 157. Combine that with the two transfers you brought in at 133 (Redding) and 197 (Brophy) not being very good, and this lineup is destined to get beat in conference.
Virginia had two ranked wrestlers, and one of them lost to Matty Singleton. So UVa got four wins from unranked guys. How many years back would you have to go in the Pop era to find the last time State lost four matches to unranked wrestlers in the same dual?

Really only bad loss was Ryan Jack. Don't get me started on the Jack's. They're always ranked in the top 10 but spend the whole match stalling and if they go against someone with a motor they don't have a chance.
I think this team doesn't have a stacked lineup top to bottom but some big time heavy hitters. The duals likely will not be as strong but we have a real chance to have 5 guys podium at NCAAs with Vince, Koy, Denny, Matty, and Trumble. If Zepeda is able to go this season that's another huge piece.
