Michaela Laki has signed with NC State women's tennis, as announced by Simon Earnshaw on Wednesday. The Larissa, Greece native is a top 10 ITF junior.

Michaela is a player that both David [Secker] and I have been tracking for a long time, and we feel very fortunate to be able to welcome to the program," said head coach Simon Earnshaw. "What stood out to us with Michaela is the passion and love for the game, training and really all tennis that she exudes."

Laki's highest ITF Junior World Ranking is No. 9, and she is the fourth top 10 ITF junior coach Earnshaw and Pack women's tennis has signed. Sada Nahiman (2020), Priska Nugorho (2021) and Diana Shnaider (2022) were also in the top 10 before coming to Raleigh.

Did a little searching on YouTube for Michaela Laki. Here is a match she played about a year ago.

Laki beats 20-year old Dutch player, Anouk Koevermans, 6-1, 6-4. Koevermans is currently ranked #191 in the world in the WTA live rankings.

Don't know if this is Laki's best career win or not, but beating the #191 player in the world gives you an idea of her potential.
