The NC State Women's Track and Field team delivered an impressive performance at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, tying for 23rd place alongside North Carolina, Notre Dame, and West Virginia. Every athlete on the team earned a top-10 finish, securing All-American honors for their efforts.

5000m
Grace Hartman competed in the 5000m on Friday, setting a personal best of 15:11.10 to place sixth, earning First-Team All-American honors and claiming the fastest time in NC State history for the event.

Distance Medley Relay (DMR)
Kate Putman, Jordyn Parker, Angelina Napoleon, and Hannah Gapes represented NC State in the DMR, where they achieved a time of 10:55.11, securing sixth place and All-American honors.

3000m
Hartman and Gapes returned to action on Saturday to compete in the 3000m, each earning All-American honors. Hartman placed fifth with a time of 9:03.37 to earn First-Team All-American honors, while Gapes finished 10th in 9:04.35, securing Second-Team All-American honors.

The NC State Track and Field team concluded its opening weekend at the UCF Black and Gold Invitational in Orlando, Fla., and the UNC Charlotte 49er Classic, with four Wolfpack athletes earning spots on the program's all-time top 10 list.

Highlights

Tony Taylor II opened his outdoor season with a 55.20m in the hammer throw, finishing in third place. His mark ties for ninth all-time in the program.

Luke Thierfelder secured the victory in the javelin with a 62.49m in his debut as a Wolfpack athlete. He is now third on the program's all-time list.

Jordyn Parker competed in the 200m, posting a 24.26 to tie for ninth on the program's all-time top 10 list. She then competed in the 100m, where she posted an 11.84 to tie for ninth again on the program's list.

Katie Horne crushed her personal best in the javelin with a 46.54m, claiming the victory and defending her title as the program's all-time best in the event at the Charlotte 49er Classic. Jakerra Covington earned a spot on the podium with a 40.09m in the javelin at the Charlotte 49er Classic, finishing third.

Covington then competed in the 100m hurdles, achieving a personal best of 14.71.

Luke Thierfelder and Katie Horne both set all-time bests in the Javelin on the first day of the Raleigh Relays while Brett Gardner entered the all-time top list for the 1500m to wrap up the first day of events.

Day One Highlights

Luke Thierfelder set a personal best with a throw of 66.58m (218' 5") in the javelin, securing his spot as the program's all-time best in the event. He finished 4th.

One week after opening her outdoor season with a personal best of 46.54m (152' 8") in the javelin, Katie Horne bested her PB again, defending her title as the program's all-time best with a throw of 48.40m (158' 9"). She finished 5th.


Jakerra Covington competed in the javelin and posted a season-best throw of 40.82m (133' 11").


Brett Gardner set a personal best of 3:42.18 in the 1500m, earning the No. 4 spot on the program's all-time top 10 list.

Grace Hartman and Angelina Napoleon shattered program, facility, and meet records, while five Wolfpack athletes secured spots on NC State's all-time top-10 list, capping off a successful second day at the Raleigh Relays.

Day Two Highlights
Hartman delivered an exceptional performance in the 10,000-meter invitational, taking an early lead and maintaining it throughout the race. She crossed the finish line with a personal-best time of 31:20.60, breaking the meet, facility, and program records by one minute. Hartman now holds the all-time NC State record in the event and ranks as the third-fastest performer in NCAA history.

Napoleon dominated the 3,000-meter steeplechase, leading from start to finish to clock a personal-best 9:34.22. Her time shattered the meet, facility, and program records and currently stands as the fastest in the NCAA this season.

Kate Putman turned in a strong performance in the 1,500 meters, finishing first in her heat with a personal-best 4:14.98. She placed sixth overall and claimed the No. 7 spot on NC State's all-time top-10 list.

Xavier Branker competed in the 110-meter hurdles, winning his heat and setting a personal-best 14.25 to finish 13th.
Jayda Hunter secured a place on the program's all-time top-10 list for the triple jump with a season-best mark of 12.47 meters (40 feet, 11 inches), placing third.

Elijah Dawes earned a second-place finish in the 400 meters after a thrilling battle to the finish line, clocking 46.21 behind Tennessee's Christan Parker, who won in 46.17. Dawes now ranks fifth on NC State's all-time top-10 list in the event.

Shaune Ingraham and Jordyn Parker also competed in the 400 meters. Ingraham ran 55.25 to claim the No. 8 spot on NC State's all-time list, while Parker clocked 55.62 to secure the No. 9 spot.

NC State will return to Paul Derr Track on Saturday for the final day of the Raleigh Relays, beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET. A senior recognition ceremony will take place before the 4x400-meter relay events.

The NC State Wolfpack set multiple personal bests to close out the final day of the Raleigh Relays, concluding a successful weekend at the annual meet.

Day Three Highlights
In the women's long jump, Elyssia Fisher achieved a personal-best mark of 5.92 meters (19 feet, 5.25 inches) to finish fifth and claim the No. 9 spot on the program's all-time list. Jayda Hunter and Nia Poole also recorded personal bests, jumping 5.46 meters (17 feet, 11 inches) and 5.38 meters (17 feet, 8 inches), respectively.

In the hammer throw, two Wolfpack posted season bests. Sydney Freeman threw 56.13 meters (184 feet, 2 inches), while Makala Wright recorded a mark of 54.39 meters (178 feet, 5 inches). Natalie Griffith achieved a personal best with a throw of 44.99 meters (147 feet, 7 inches).

Angelina Napoleon returned to the track and clocked 2:06.37 in the 800 meters, setting a new personal best and securing the No. 5 spot on the program's all-time top-10 list. Kate Putman also delivered a strong performance, running 2:08.06 to earn the No. 10 spot on the list.

NC State competed in the 4x100-meter relay, finishing sixth with a time of 45.98good for No. 8 on the program's all-time top-10 list.

On the men's side, Tony Taylor II threw a personal-best 51.88 meters (170 feet, 2 inches) to finish fifth in the event.

Xavier Branker competed in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing third with a time of 51.21. Branker is now No. 6 on the program's all-time top-10 list.

DURHAM, N.C. Sam Bush shattered the Duke Invitational meet record in the 1,500 meters to secure a victory on the second night of the meet at Morris Williams Track and Field Stadium.

The day featured two podium finishes, with Bush taking first in the 1,500m in 4:14.09 to set a new meet record. Jenna Barnes earned her first podium finish of the season, placing second in the high jump with a mark of 1.61 meters (5 feet, 3.25 inches).

Angelina Napoleon followed Bush in the 1,500m, finishing fifth in 4:15.75 to place two Wolfpack runners in the top five for the event.

Kate Putman placed fifth in the 800-meter invitational with a time of 2:05.62. The performance moves her into fourth place on the program's all-time top-10 list for the event.

Tom Jones Memorial
A portion of the Wolfpack throws crew competed at the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville, Florida. Katie Horne improved her personal best in the javelin once again this season, solidifying her status as the program's all-time best in the event. Horne's mark of 48.55 meters (159 feet, 3 inches) earned her a sixth-place finish. In the hammer throw, Makala Wright placed 10th with a mark of 53.86 meters (176-8).

Virginia Challenge
Brett Gardner turned in a strong performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase invite, finishing third with a personal-best 8:29.65. The time edged out the previous program recordset by Andy Smith in 2005 (8:29.66)by one-hundredth of a second.

Tyson Adams claimed second in the long jump with a mark of 8.05 meters (26-5) with a wind reading of +4.9. Mariama Hunt earned her first podium finish in the women's long jump, placing third with a jump of 6.43 meters (21-1.25) and a wind reading of +4.6.

In the women's high jump, Jenna Barnes finished fifth with a mark of 1.64 meters (5-4.5).
James Coleman captured first place in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking a personal-best time of 52.90.

Wake Forest Invitational
Angelina Napoleon placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase invite with a personal-best 9:29.20, a time that ranks No. 3 in NCAA Division I this season. The result also maintains her status as the program's all-time best in the event.

Natalie Giffith moved into the program's all-time top 10 in the discus, finishing eighth with a throw of 41.79 meters (137-1), which now ranks No. 10 in school history.

Sam Bush recorded a season-best 4:10.94 in the 1,500 meters to finish ninth and currently ranks 11th in NCAA Division I this season.
Bush returned for the 5,000 meters, where she and Bethany Michalak both earned top-10 finishes. Michalak finished fourth with a time of 15:43.83, just ahead of Bush in seventh at 15:43.84.
