NC State Athletics Director Boo Corrigan has announced that there will be a change in leadership for the Wolfpack women's soccer program.

Tim Santoro has served as head coach since November of 2012. He posted a 90-108-33 record at NC State with a 28-69-16 mark in ACC play. He led the Wolfpack to the NCAA postseason six times.

"We thank Tim for all of his contributions to NC State and wish him well in the future," said Corrigan.

A national search for Santoro's successor will begin immediately.

ECU Women's team made the NCAA tournament. I wonder if we try and go after their coach.

Not sure if he will get the full time job but if UNC doesn't elevate Damn Nehas to full time head coach instead of interim we should do everything in the world possible to hire him. NCSU grad, knows how to win etc. One can hope.

So the current interim head coach at UNC Damon Nahas is a name to watch for the Pack if UNC goes with one of Carla Overbeck or Tiffany Roberts both UNC alum.

A native of East Northport, N.Y., Nahas played soccer at N.C. State from 1992-96 before playing professionally. In the early 2000s, Nahas founded Next Level Academy, which played an important role in his development as a coach. He became a leader in player development in the Triangle as the technical director of youth club Capital Area Soccer League, winning two ECNL national championships at the highest level of youth soccer. In 2011, U.S. Soccer hired him as the head coach of the 15U Girls' National Team.

Nahas is now in his ninth year at UNC since joining the program as an assistant in 2015. He was promoted to associate head coach in 2021, and played an important role in training and tactics during Dorrance's final seasons. Nahas said he has learned lessons from Dorrance that have prepared him for this year.

If this works out and they can bring him in as the next coach, he would be a home run. He knows the market, knows NC club soccer, and is a Wolfpack alum.

Well he just won the National Championship so does he take the job or come back to the Pack.

Well the search goes on. Nahas is the next official head coach at UNC after winning the Natty.

"Nahas had the interim tag removed Monday morning pending UNC board of trustees approval. He told the team after the game."
