Taking on Arizona State, @packswimdive split the meet with the No. 12 women winning 222-131 and No. 5 men dropping 195-158.

The Wolfpack had multiple freshmen set pool records including Erika Peleaz who totaled six first-place finishes.

ACC Names Swimming & Diving Performers of the Week

ACC WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Erika Pelaez, NC State, Fr., Miami, Florida

Peleaz swept the competition in all six events last weekend in the Wolfpack win over No. 18 Arizona State. The Miami, Florida, native earned first place in the 100 free (47.98), 200 free (1:43.14) and 200 backstroke (1:50.71). On the relay side, Peleaz was a part of the winning teams for the 200 free relay (21.62 split), 400 free relay (46.76 split) and 200 medley relay (23.48 split). The freshman recorded three personal records (200 free, 200 backstroke, 200 medley relay) in her collegiate debut.

The NC State swimming and diving team will be traveling to Athens, GA to go head to head against the No. 8 Georgia Bulldogs. The Pack will be competing in a two day dual meet taking place Nov. 8-9 at the Gabrielsen Natatorium.

The two-day meet begins with the Bulldogs Swimapalooza event on Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m., followed by a traditional meet on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. Both meets are free to the public and will stream live on SEC Network+.

The Pack head into it's second dual meet after coming off of a split against the Arizona State Sun Devils on Oct. 25. The Wolfpack women came out hot, securing a 222-131 win over the Sun Devils.

Collectively the Pack head into this week's meet with 44 top-ten finishes in the NCAA. The Wolfpack women currently lead the NCAA with the fastest times in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 medley relay.

Freshman Erika Pelaez had a standout performance for the Pack in its matchup against the Sun Devils. Making her college debut, the freshman broke the school record in the women's 200 freestyle as well as the pool record in the women's 200 backstroke. This performance led Pelaez to be named ACC swimmer of the week, her first ACC honor since joining the Pack.

Pack in the rankings:
The Wolfpack started off the season in the polls with the men clocking in at the No. 5 spot in the CSCAA rankings. The women follow behind at the No. 12 spot in the rankings.

Scouting the Bulldogs:
The Bulldogs head into its fourth meet on 2024-25 agenda with a 3-1 record. This matchup will be the Bulldogs second home meet of the season after hosting the Florida Gators November 1 in Athens, Ga. The Gators gave Georgia its first loss of the season after winning with a score of 142-158. Both men's and women's teams posted six wins against the Gators. Multiple Bulldogs made an appearance in the SEC Swimming and Diving athletes of the week in the week of Oct. 22. Redshirt senior Luca Urlando, Freshman Elliot Woodburn, Sophomore Leva Maluka, and Freshman Samantha Rydzewski were all featured on the weekly honors.

The No.5 & No.12 Wolfpack defeated the No.7 & No.10 Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, Ga, Nov. 8-9 as the Pack competed in its first road meet of its 2024-25 agenda. The Wolfpack put on a show this weekend sweeping the Bulldogs, at their home pool with a final score of (232.50-134.50) for the men, and (218-152) for the women.
Competed in the Bulldogs first ever Swimalopooza, the Pack collected a total of 20 individual first place finishes over the course of its two day dual meet. (thirteen on 11/8, and nine on 11/9)

The Wolfpack got a quick jump on the Bulldogs men's and women's 200 medley relay teams taking first, with the men's 200 relay (McCarty, Hoover, Miller, Salls) All clipping and NCAA A cut time after finishing with a time of (1:22.75). Erika Pelaez led the Pack in the women's 200 free finishing a whole second ahead of her opponents. In her second individual event of the night Pelaez kept her winning streak alive after placing first in the women's 100 freestyle with a time of (47.81). Grace Sheble, Aubree Brouwer, and Lisa Nystrand all swept the 1,2, and 3 spots in the women's 100 breaststroke, securing the Wolfpack women 16 points to its total score. Following, Arsen Kozhakmetov earned his first collegiate win after his performance in the 100 Breaststroke. Kozhakmetov finished first with a time of (52.80).

Lily Christanson and Sam Hoover both set the Georgia School Record in the men's and women's 100 IM. Hoover finished with a time of (47.20), with Daniel Diehl, and Simon Bermudez taking the second and third spot. Christianson finished first with a time of (54.94), Lisa Nystrand followed shortly behind to take third.
Heading into day two the red and white from NC State had a cushioning lead over the Bulldogs in both men's and women's events.The women lead with (119-67) points, and the men with a (128-58). In the men's 200 IM Daniel Diehl, Simon Bermudez, and Kyle Ponsler all had podium finishes leaving the Bulldogs in the bottom of the heat. The Wolfpack men's 800 free relay team consisting of Kaii Winkler, Jerry Fox, Sam Hoover, and Daniel Diehl all clocked the fastest time in the nation holding the new top time of 6:19.81.

Saturday, the Wolfpack women swept the Bulldogs securing a 66 point lead for the win. Leah Shackley was the leader of the Pack this week having four individual 1st place finishes in the 200 back, 200 fly, 100 back, and the 100 fly. Her performances in the women's 100 Back, qualifying her for an NCAA A cut time.Chase Travis moved her way up the record books, now holding the third fastest time in school history in the women's 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:39.05.

Diving Highlights:
Diver Elisabeth Rockefellar earned her first collegiate win placing first in both the 1-meter (280.50), and 3-meter (292.58) events.

Up Next: The Pack will make the trip to Greensboro November 21-23 as they host the Wolfpack Elite GAC Invitational at Greensboro Aquatic Center. Making an appearance at the invite will be Duke (M/W), Virginia Tech (M/W), Arizona State(M/W), Arizona(M/W), Army (M/W), and Northwestern (M/W).

NC State's Daniel Diehl was named the ACC Men's Swimmer of the Week

NC State's Leah Shackley and California's Isabelle Stadden shared ACC Women's Co-Swimmers of the Week honors while NC State's Elisabeth Rockefeller was named ACC Women's Diver of the Week.

ACC MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Daniel Diehl, NC State, So., Cumberland, Maryland

Diehl was named the ACC Men's Swimmer of the Week after his performance against No. 7 Georgia last week. The sophomore out of Cumberland, Maryland, earned first place in the 200 IM (1:43.85) and was a member of the winning 800 free relay team (6:19.81). Diehl also came in second in the 200 back (1:41.15), second in the 100 IM (48.27) and third in the 200 free (1:33.74).

ACC WOMEN'S CO-SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Leah Shackley, NC State, Fr., Bedford, Pennsylvania

Shackley earned four individual titles last weekend in the Wolfpack's win against No. 10 Georgia, where she contributed a team-high 36 points to the final score. The Bedford, Pennsylvania, native took first in the 200 fly (1:55.75), 200 back (1:50.81), 100 back (50.22) and the 100 fly (51.08). She also helped lead NC State to a win in the 200 medley relay (1:36.66). Shackley is undefeated in all individual events during the past two meets for the Wolfpack.

ACC WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Elisabeth Rockefeller, NC State, So., Fairfax, Virginia

The Fairfax, Virginia, native swept the boards last week in a Wolfpack win against No. 10 Georgia. Rockefeller placed first in the 1-meter with a score of 280.50 before snagging a win in the 3-meter with a score of 292.58.
