NCSU returns to action on Sunday at 5:30 PM with a road matchup in Durham against the Duke Blue Devils

The Pack makes a Sunday trip to Duke for its final road contest of the 2023-24 regular season. Tip-off from Cameron Indoor Stadium is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. that day with national television coverage provided by the ACC Network.

State women's basketball will play its final road game of the regular season on Sunday evening as the sixth-ranked Wolfpack (23-4, 11-4 ACC) makes the short trip to Durham for a nationally-televised meeting with Duke (17-9, 9-6 ACC)

Tip-off for the second matchup of the season between the Wolfpack and the Blue Devils is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside Cameron Indoor Stadium, and the game will be aired on the ACC Network. Live radio coverage will also be available on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh and on the GoPack and Varsity Network apps.

SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 49-39)
Sunday marks the 89th overall meeting between NC State and Duke as two varsity squads and the second of two regular-season matchups.

NC State won the first meeting of the year, a 72-57 decision on the Wolfpack's home court.

With the exception of the 2020-21 COVID season, the Wolfpack and the Blue Devils have faced off at least once every season since NC State's first as a varsity team in 1974-75.

The teams also met on Feb. 15, 1974 before the Wolfpack was a varsity squad. NC State won that home game by a 64-44 score.

NC State is 18-20 all-time when playing at Duke.

The Pack dropped its last visit to Cameron Indoor Stadium, falling by a 77-62 score in that Feb. 23, 2023 trip last year.

Prior to that, NC State had won its last two trips to Durham.

Duke swept the regular-season series against NC State last year, marking its first time putting together a winning streak against the Pack since winning three in a row across the 2012-13 and 2013-14 campaigns.

NC State last swept the series with Duke in 2021-22.

NC State is 9-5 against the Blue Devils under the leadership of Coach Moore.

This will be the 53rd time that NC State is ranked when playing Duke. The Pack is 10-9 when both teams are ranked and 28-5 when it is ranked and the Blue Devils are unranked.

NC State women's basketball (23-5, 11-5 ACC) dropped its second game in a row on Sunday evening as it came up short at Duke (18-9, 10-6 ACC).

The Wolfpack cut what was at one point a Duke third-quarter advantage of 22 (43-21) to as close as eight points (63-55) with under a minute remaining in the game but ultimately ran out of time to complete a comeback.

Graduate center River Baldwin posted her fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, with nine of those boards coming in the first half alone. As NC State looked to a smaller lineup for much of the second half, Aziaha James (15 points), Saniya Rivers (13 points) and Zoe Brooks (10 points) joined her in double figures.

The Pack shot just 6-of-28 (.214) in the first half and turned the ball over eight times in that span to stare up at a 16-point deficit (35-19) at the break. It marked the team's largest halftime deficit of the season. NC State outscored Duke in both the third (18-17) and fourth (21-17) quarters but could not overcome the Blue Devil lead it stared up at coming into the second half.

Brooks posted eight of her 10 points in the fourth quarter to fuel the Wolfpack, and Rivers added six in the final frame. James shot 3-of-6 from distance on the night, her third game in a row knocking down multiple three pointers.

NC State turns its attention to the last week of regular-season actions with a pair of home games. The Wolfpack next takes on Syracuse on Thursday night, with that game set for a 7 p.m. start inside Reynolds Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on ACCNX, and tickets are sold out but available for resale on SeatGeek, the official fan-to-fan marketplace of the Wolfpack.
