Recent graduate and three-time All-ACC selection
Jameese Joseph became the second player in NC State women's soccer program history to be selected in the National Women's Soccer League Draft when the Chicago Red Stars selected Joseph No. 15 overall on Friday night.
Joseph, the first pick of the second round in the 2024 NWSL Draft, joins Tziarra King as the two NWSL Draft selections in program history and the
Tim Santoro era. King was drafted No. 8 overall in the 2020 NWSL Draft by Utah Royals FC.
Joseph finished her NC State career with four ACC honors, earning ACC All-Freshman Team accolades in 2019, Second Team All-ACC honors in 2021 and Third Team All-ACC honors in 2022 and 2023.
The Beltsville, Maryland native wrote her name into the NC State record book with 87 career starts and 237 career shots, marks that rank eighth and sixth, respectively. She concluded her NC State career with 24 goals, 10 assists and 58 points.
Joseph helped lead the Wolfpack to three NCAA Tournament appearances during her career, highlighted by a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2019.
The NWSL was established in 2012 and is a successor to the Women's Professional Soccer league and Women's United Soccer Association. Joseph is the ninth professional draftee in program history.
