The NC State track and field team returns to action tomorrow for the first day of the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg, Va.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack is coming off of a busy weekend in which it captured two school records while competing in the BU Valentine Invite, Clemson Tiger Paw Invite, Eagle Elite Invite, and Don Kirby Elite Invite.

On the opening night of the Valentine Invite, freshman Angelina Napoleon broke the school record for the 800m for the second time in two weeks after clocking in at 2:06.70.

The men's DMR team of Xavier Branker, Zach Hughes, Wesley Larson, and Jake Toomey also picked up a school record, finishing the men's distance medley event in 9:37.96 to take first and establish a new NC State all-time mark.

At the Tiger Paw Invite, Caroline Murrell took first place in the women's 3000m after running a personal-best time of 9:51.06. With a time of 8:17.02 in the men's 3000m, Jimmy Mullarkey finished fifth and set a new personal-best mark. Joe Jaster also ran and finished 10th with a time of 8:26.07.

Matt Bogdan clocked in at 4:15.56 in the men's mile to finish in sixth. Murrell also claimed a top-10 finish in the women's mile with a time of 5:00.86 that earned her eighth and a new PR.

Grace Hartman, Kate Putman, Napoleon, and Sam Bush competed for the Pack in the women's DMR at the Eagle Elite Invite, finishing in fifth with a time of 10:55.91, the fourth-best mark in school history.

At the Don Kirby Invite, Kyzaiah Stone took eighth in the men's high jump with a jump of 2.07m. Jirah Sidberry finished ninth overall in the women's high jump with a leap of 6.16m.

Jayda Hunter represented NC State in the women's triple jump, finishing in 10th with a jump of 12.71m, the sixth-best in program history.

PACK IN THE POLLS
The men's DMR team currently ranks fourth on the NCAA Indoor Qualifying list with their school-record time of 9:37.96. The women's DMR time of 10:55.91 puts them at ninth on the Indoor Qualifying list.

Bush also represents the Wolfpack on the list, coming in at #20 for the women's 3000m with her time of 8:56.31.

The NC State track & field team is set to begin postseason action tomorrow as it opens competition at the 2024 ACC Indoor Championships in Boston, Massachusetts.

PACK IN THE POLLS
NC State currently holds four National top-20 marks heading into postseason competition.

Bush ranks sixth in the country in the 5000m with a converted time of 15:25.59. Hartman's converted time of 15:29.92 is ninth on the NCAA Indoor Qualifying list.

The women's DMR team of Angelina Napoleon, Kate Putman, Bush, and Hartman ranks 17th with their mark of 10:55.91 they achieved at the Eagle Elite Invite.

Bush also ranks 20th in the country in the 3000m with a time of 8:56.31 which she recorded at the Valentine Invite.

The NC State track and field team opened postseason action today at the 2024 ACC Indoor Championships in Boston with two athletes claiming All-ACC honors.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Distance


In the men's DMR, the grouping of Jake Toomey, Xavier Branker, Zach Hughes, and Brett Gardner set a new school record for the event with a fourth-place time of 9:35.82. This marks the second time in two weeks in which the men's indoor DMR record has been broken.



Sprints
Lance Patterson set a new personal record in the men's 200m with a time of 21.90. On the women's side of the event, Jordyn Parker represented NC State, finishing in 24.60 to set a new personal best.

The NC State track and field team returned to action today, picking up one All-ACC performance seeing two athletes qualify for the finals in their respective events.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jumps

Jirah Sidberry took home Second Team All-ACC honors in the women's long jump with a fifth-place mark of 6.21m.

Middle Distance
In the women's mile prelim, Grace Hartman turned in a time of 4:39.77 to finish second and move to the final round on Saturday. Kate Putman also ran in the event and set a personal record with a time of 4:40.43.

Sprints
In the women's 60m hurdles prelim, Ally Henson clocked in at 8.38 to finish sixth and qualify for the final. Jordyn Parker represented NC State in the women's 60m prelim and set a new personal best with a time of 7.61.

Quentin Clarke ran in the men's 400m prelim and timed in at 48.81 to set a new personal best.
