The Wolfpack wrapped up a successful week of action at the 2023 World University Games with Giovanni Izzo, Kyle Ponsler, and Kacper Stokowski all participating.

Over the seven-day competition at the Dong'an Lake Sports Park Swimming and Diving Hall in Chengdu, China, NC State swimmers won five medals, including a gold medal in the men's 50 freestyle from Izzo.

Izzo finished the competition with four medals seeing silver twice, one in the mixed 4x100 freestyle relay and one in the men's 4x100 medley relay. His bronze came in the men's 4x100 freestyle relay, where he set a personal best in the preliminaries with a 48.56 split

Representing Italy, Izzo clocked a 22.17 to win gold in the men's 50 free. The swim comes in just off Izzo's personal best of 22.05, which he set back in 2017.

Stokowski didn't leave Chengdu empty-handed either, as he earned a silver medal with Team Poland in the mixed 4x100 medley relay. He swam in the men's 50 and 100 backstroke, finishing fourth

Ponsler representing Team USA, swam in the men's 200 and 400 medley and the men's 4x200 freestyle relay.
